Selgron delivers the largest packaging and baling project in the sugar sector in Latin America.

Publicado em 10/08/2021

Selgron delivered the biggest packaging and baling project of one of the biggest companies in Latin America in the sugar sector, Camil Alimentos, owner of União and Da Barra brands. The purpose of the proposal was to build a new unit where the entire packaging and baling process was automated and with high performance.

For the implementation, machines developed especially for the sugar market were used, aiming to achieve high productivity with this type of product. According to the commercial supervisor at Selgron, Sandro Ricardo Corrêa, the biggest challenge was to develop a winning project for a product with so many particularities. “together with all the technical staff, we created a specific solution for Camil, with a productivity level that the competitor could not reach”, he explains.

Sugar mills are complex environments in relation to heat, humidity and air contamination. Thus, the equipment needs greater care because the components wear out more easily and there is a need for greater precision in weight as well an increase in the volume produced. Selgron was able to meet all the requirements delivering machines with the highest productivity ever achieved in this market.

The project development lasted for over a year, with studies, tests in the old plant, layout of the new plant with equipment positioning, installation, feeding, production flow and many hours of engineering aiming at achieving the customer´s goal.

According to Camil's industrial manager, Adolfo Galler Frisanco, the machines are easy to operate, the operator has little contact with the machinery and technical assistance is very close. “The 50 automated machines deliver the finished product: coded, welded, sealed and baled”, he completes.

The partnership between Selgron and Camil to implement the largest sugar project was focused on proximity to the customer and technical excellence, with the continuous improvement in processes and equipment. The full case video is available on Selgron's YouTube channel.
